Prologue: The Mostly Distorted Record of Flight 745
Space Case- During a routine planetary survey of Salta Major, flight 745 (a.k.a. Space Box) experiences a massive systems failure. The malfunction sends the ship crashing into the planet below.
Crash Landing- The crash kills all of Space Box’s crew with the exception of Lieutenant Alfred Riggs and Second Pilot Rax Will.
UFO- The natives of Salta Major, primitive but deadly in their element, hone in on the falling ship with their keen eyesight. Observing alien beings dressed in green riding the fire ball, they become extremely panicked. A decision is made to send out their best warriors on Wykshaw to eradicate the threat.
First Breath on a New Planet- Though devastated by the loss of life aboard Space Box, the men push out into the wilderness surrounding the ship’s grave. Their goal: to investigate the land and secure perimeter, unsure of what the planet may give refuge to.
Wykshaw- While investigating the alien planet, they hear the thundering stomps of what seems to be a thousand giants growing nearer. Before long, they spot the deafening terror from a ridge. It is roughly thirty giant archnids ascending to their position, ridden by smaller, almost cone shaped aliens. The horrific sight play in slow motion as Rax thinks of the wife and daughter he will surely never see again.
Killing Alfred- Both men run back to the refuge of the dead ship, but one of the giant monsters out flanks them. The alien rider thrusts a spear into Rax’s shoulder, and at the same time, Alfred begins running back the way they had come. The arachnid, unable to resist the running prey, springs forward, ripping the spear from Rax. The young pilot seizes the moment to escape, but as he flees, he can hear the lieutenant’s demise.
Cryo- Bleeding massively and barely conscious, Rax reaches Space Box. He boards it carcass, and immediately steps into the hybonic/cryo escape pod, Space Box 2. With the sequence code in, he’s shot out of the atmosphere, stiffening in the cold for the long journey ahead.
The Trip Home- Space Box 2 twirls in space, slowly edging its way back home.
Burn Up on Re-Entry- As the computers aboard Space Box 2 thaw and shock Rax back to life, his brain struggles to comprehend his surroundings. Things slowly come back, forcing him to realize why he’s been awoken: the towing parties that should have picked him up before re-entry are nowhere to be seen. He will surely burn up in the Earth’s atmosphere.
Goodnight- As fire screams around the window of his escape pod, Rax thinks only of his wife and daughter. His craft proceeds to crash into the Slanted Desert of New Mexico.
